Hommage à la tectonique

Hommage à la tectonique

The Alps is a topic I approached several years crisscrossing this space regularly. In this ongoing series I’m trying to reveal aspects of the mountain environment that we hardly know and so to surprise the viewer, despite his being so accustomed to the Swiss mountain imagery. Mountains exist in the mist and gray, which is closer to its everyday reality than the blue azure of conventional images. It is lacerated with roads or avalanches. Some photographs show particular natural phenomena like an avalanche, the appearance of algae on the surface of a pro-glacial lake, a limestone pavement (erosion runoff on limestone). So I don’t necessarily photograph landscapes but a subject that is there and that awakens something in me, emotions or feelings. And no matter whetherit is natural or artificial. Another sort of mountain, which remains outside the field of vision, is revealed. This is different iconography of the Alps.
